2nd PromooD Career Event

During this event, you, PhD candidate from TU Delft, had the opportunity to meet Alumni and experts working in the Industry or Academia. You discovered and learned about experiences from Alumni that went through the process of PhD studies and graduation. Alumni had the opportunity to share their experiences, knowledge and tips for future career choices to PhD students in a relaxed and friendly environment. Moreover, there was  a workshop presented by the Coaching Consultant Xelvin on the topic of "Presenting and branding during an interview".

June 24th VrijMiBo

For PhD students working hours are long, and work does not limit itself to working days.

Nonetheless, also PhD students need to relax!!! Therefore, we from PromooD present our monthly VrijMiBo (VrijdagMiddagBorrel), an after-work event held every last Friday of the month. So after each hard month of work, you can get together with your fellow PhDs and get in touch with the community and prove that also PhDs do have social skills!

Career Consellor for PhD Students

With the start of the Graduate School, a Career Counsellor for PhDs is appointed in the Career Centre of TU Delft. The Career Counsellor offers personal counselling and advice on different career related issues. Support can be given to PhDs who must decide on the next career step that best suits their ambitions, strengths and capacities. In order to decide on the position, PhDs are often faced with questions such as: should I continue my career in science? Do I want to do this in or outside the Netherlands? Would it be possible to find a job in an international company? How can I best present my PhD education to have a better chance for a career in business? But other questions might come up too, for instance: how to increase my motivation and/or reduce stress, or how to combine my PhD with family life?

2nd PromooD Supervisor of the Year Award

PromooD would like to introduce the Second PromooD Supervisor of the Year Award. This competition enables PhD candidates of TU Delft to share experiences and to acknowledge good supervision practices at the university.

The purpose of this university-wide award is to acknowledge outstanding performances of a supervisor.  We are interested in knowing what your supervisor has done over and above what has been expected of him/her.

Joint event: TU Delft/Leiden going out

Friday, October 14th 20:00, 't Keizertje, Leiden (Kaiserstraat 2-4)

Come and join us for an evening of trivia as we compete against the Leiden University to show who has really got the brains! There will be questions about the sciences and arts - but also current events, popular entertainment, history, music... in short, anything and everything! Leave your iPad at home, and just bring your yourself and other PhD friends to join us for this evening of friendly competition. As always, the first beer is on us!
