"Lending people, not books"

The idea is to form a collection of living books, people with a nice story to tell. Then we will have a get-together of a small group of PhDs and the rector, and two chosen living books will tell their story, followed by an informal discussion.

The concept would work as follows:

  1. The rector and the PhDs each suggest a short list of willing candidates to become living books.
  2. The rector and the PhDs each select a candidate proposed by the other.
  3. A get-together with the rector is organised, in which the living books are introduced and have a chance to tell their story, with plenty of time for an open discussion.
The event will be held on the 15th of December, at the TU Delft Library 20.00 – 23.00
The programme will be as follows:
20.00 - 20.15
Welcome and introduction
20.15 - 20.45
Presentation by the candidate chosen by the PhD students
20.45 - 21.00
Discussion
21.00 - 21.15
Break
21.15 - 21.45
Presentation by the candidate chosen by the rector
21.45 - 22.00
Discussion
22.00 - 23.00
Time to chat informally
